upcycling

My friend gave a big bag of clothes yesterday and in there was these very wide legged pants, i had been wanting to make luke some denim shorts, but didn't have any denim, so out came my sissors and a few hours of sewing & mucking around, these old skatey jeans are transformed into what i think are the cutest little shorts for luke! scuse the silly hem, it was getting on to midnight and i was over it, next time im sure will be a lot quicker, first time making something always takes longer as i hardly ever stick to a pattern, theres always something i want to change.
Now im eyeing up all my old jeans lol

Bunting!

well i have made my first lot of bunting, was so easy and fun, the hardest part was deciding what size to make and of course the fabric choice, im not to sure about the felt letters i put on , but i can always flip it the other way if it bugs me enough, i should have made them bigger.
cant wait to make some christmas bunting, but i should make some for luke first, will have to paw through my fabric and see what i come up with, though i seem to have more boy prints than girly ones at the moment, which is unusual for me.
i made my bunting 7" across and 7.5" down the middle as i wanted them to be a decent size but not too big.

to dye for

well, emma and i had a fun night of dyeing wool tonight, her lovely aunty was kind enough to knit up some sock blanks on her knitting machine so this is what i did with mine , the last photo is it all wet before cooking so its looks kinda funny the first ones are all cooked, but will take a pic when they dry.the stiped wool blanks are for a swap, but im fairly sure my swapee won't see this! i love how it dyed up,i think i might have to dye some silver/pink one for me, maybe with black aswell or white...
also dyed up some pink/purple/silver wool for a hat for eden, since pink is her fav colour (mine too :)and some silver/purple/teal for a swap, i love how the silver turned out, its my new fav i think!and the red wool is some random wool i got cheap from the sallies, its 14ply so thinkin i will make some slippers with it, i get really cold feet in winter and dan wont let me warm them up on him, meanie aye lol.
